It’s Christmas / Kwanzaa / Hanukkah time and that means presents. Giving, getting, and returning. Why not add a touch of geeky flare to your gifts this season by wrapping them up in some of the dorkiest paper of all time. From custom QR codes to paper that simply says CAN HAS (from I Can Has Cheezburger memes, etc.) to wrapping paper that actually is comprised of your very own tweets.
These wrapping papers are so fantastic, it almost doesn’t matter what’s inside the box!
Yes, it’s shaping up to be the geekiest Christmas of all time at my house. Family and friends, you’ve been warned. Now, on with the list!
If you’re searching for the perfect wrapping paper to bundle your geeky gift in, look no further. This QR code wrapping paper looks festive (almost like nerd-tastic snowflakes), hides fifty video-gifts, and is an interesting present in itself. Just don’t call it qrapping paper. Kind of ruins the effect. From qrappingpaper.com
From Thinkgeek: After years of toiling and desperation, our engineers at ThinkGeek Gift Labs ™ have finally invented something so unique and innovative, it perplexes even the brightest minds as to how global society might be impacted. We’ll explain it to you but if your brain explodes, we warned you. You see, we have taken the flesh of a tree, mixed it up with some water and other patented goos.
Then we took both some organic and inorganic pigments and dissolved them into a solvent. We took those pigments and applied them to the top of the modified tree flesh using very specific and highly intelligent patterns, and then coated everything with a nice protective finish made out of a special liquid that contains a low percentage of pigment and dries to a nice luster.
We then folded these new creations and packaged four to a package and are selling them to you at a very affordable price so that you can turn around and use them to cover up things you want to gift to other people so that they might be surprised in a controlled manner. Sheer brilliance!
Currently, you can choose between these designs:
Each pack of wrapping paper contains 4 sheets. Each sheet is 20″ x 30″. Many trees *were* harmed to bring you these unique creations, but it was all in good fun so what can we do?
Twitter enthusiasts now have a new way to enjoy the holiday season — by creating their own gift wrap, customized with tweets. The first 3,000 to do so could receive a free printed roll of their wrapping paper — while supplies last — and can participate in a contest to win a Samsung RF510 laptop.
Here’s how it works: Interested parties visit the Tweet Wrap site, where they pick a design and choose some tweets. Site users are given the option to share what their custom wrapping paper looks like via Facebook and Twitter; they can also print or download their creations.
