The Sad State of Student Texting [VIDEO]

Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Justin Long (well known for his ‘Get A Mac’ ads) demonstrated just how terrible some students are at spelling, grammar, and just making sense while texting. He called up his jailbroken iPhone and proceeded to detail a random conversation he had with someone who had mistakenly texted him. Justin played along and carried on a silly conversation with this person. While it was good for a few laughs, it really was quite depressing as one realizes this student writes like this all the time. Eek.

This video may be pulled down by ABC at some point so be sure to visit the Jimmy Kimmel Live site to view the Justin Long interview in its entirety.

What do you think? Are students terrible at texting? Let me know on Twitter @edudemic or over at Socially Learning!

Thank you for the great laughs! I'm too tired at the end of the day to stay up to watch this stuff on late night but I loved it!
