3 Powerful Apps For Mobile PDF Creation

There are a lot of apps out there that let you turn your smartphone into a mobile word-processing powerhouse. You can create, edit, and share documents on your phone pretty easily. But you can also do the reverse – scan an existing document in, edit, save, and share it. Many teachers cite a document scanner as one of their favorite technology tools in their classroom, but not every classroom has one. Luckily, your smartphone can easily be your document scanner with the help of an app. You can even use it to create documentation of what’s happening in class. Snapshots of what’s been written on the board in class, items that have been collected, or work that has been produced can be saved to PDF and stored and shared easily.

There are a ton of different photo to PDF apps out there to choose from for a variety of operating systems, so we’ve done a bit of poking around and have compiled a list of some of our favorites.

TinyScan is available for iOS and Android (price varies by platform). The app allows you to use your smartphone to scan multi-page documents and save them as PDFs. You can scan in color, black and white, or greyscale, and the app automatically detects page borders with a guide that makes it easy to ensure you’re getting all of the document in question. This app is exceptionally easy to use.

CamScanner is also available for both Android and iOS, and offers both a free version and a paid version for the iOS platform.
