Getting School Supplies to Needy Classrooms

school supplies

In the 2012-2013 school year, teachers in the United States spent $1.6 billion of their own money on school supplies, averaging $485 per teacher, with a full 10 percent of them spending more than $1,000 to provide for their classrooms.

Is your classroom ill-equipped supply-wise for the start of a new school year? Or perhaps you know a teacher in a different school or area who could use some supplies to give their students the best school year possible? Maybe your classroom is just fine, but you could afford to donate a few pencils to a classroom that doesn’t have them.

Redditgifts for teachers is an annual drive to collect school supplies for needy classrooms around the world. Last year, this program collected and donated over $350,000 in school supplies to 9,000 teachers around the world. So whether you’re the one in need or you have the ability to give, check out the program and take part! When the program wraps up, we’ll let you know how many supplies were collected and distributed to needy classrooms. Check out the program here!
