Whether we all like it or not, the Facebook Timeline is coming to a page and profile near you. By the end of March actually. So rather than designing something myself, I thought it would be fun to have an Edudemic reader do it! If you have some graphic design skills (heck, even if you don’t), then you should enter this contest. In fact, you could have your students all pose for a picture if you’re really ambitious. Seriously. The more creative the submissions, the better! Details on entering are below. Looking for some inspiration? Check out these awesome examples.
If your design is selected, we’ll send you a brand new Apple TV! It can show 1080p video, mirror your iPad, and more. It’s a great device that you can incorporate into any classroom that’s looking to go a bit more wireless.
It’s quite simple. Just e-mail edudemic[at]gmail.com with a blurb about yourself and the JPG or PNG image attached. The deadline to submit your work is Saturday, March 31, 2012.
About the image: it must be 850px wide by 315px high. It doesn’t have to include the Edudemic logo or anything like that but I reserve the right to tweak it as needed. Feel free to include a small ‘designed by XYZ’ badge or text on the image if you like. You know, to show off your awesome design.
About the blurb: tell us who you are. Are you a teacher, student, fan, or my mother? You’ll be featured in a post so be sure to share a bit about yourself.
Once we get enough entries, Terry and I will make a decision on who the finalists are. We’ll then ask the Edudemic audience to vote on the top entries. Keep an eye out for that post! Once the winner is declared, we’ll make your design our Facebook Timeline Cover and show off your hard work. Simple as that!
Not sure how to create a template? Just follow these steps as explained by CNet!
Be sure to e-mail me at edudemic[at]gmail.com with any questions or concerns. Thanks and good luck!
