I absolutely love this video. It depicts a little girl, Riley, voicing her opinion about marketing towards children. She makes terrific points and is quite eloquent.
Riley (and many others) are tired of companies making little girls feel like they must be princesses and that little boys must be superheroes. What about the girls who want to be superheroes or the boys who like playing with princess dolls?
Riley shows that anyone should be able to play with anything they want and not be judged for using a particular product. I completely agree with her but know that it’s simply not how things are out there.
While I don’t think companies will suddenly stop marketing pink to girls and blue to boys… this video is a start.
