The iPad Mini is here. At a starting price of $329 though, it may not be the silver bullet for education everyone hoped it was. That’s just $70 off the base price of the ‘big’ iPad. For schools itching to start a 1:1 setup, BYOD, or just deploy iPads in general, the iPad Mini may be worth checking out. A total game-changer for education? Probably not.

Only time will tell if the iPad Mini and other new upgraded products (announced just moments ago) will have any real long-term effect on education. Until then, start getting familiar with exactly what the iPad Mini is.

Because, let’s face it, your friends and coworkers are going to be talking about it starting right … about … now.

Note: There’s still no definitive word yet on education pricing. You can check out this official Apple page that’s used to order classrooms of iPads as I’m guessing it’ll be updated at some point soon?
