This seems like a pretty easy question to answer, right? Who would really choose going to jail over going to school?  Well, apparently it depends on what you’re going for! If you based it solely on the number of dollars spent on you in each place, then you should pick jail.

There’s been a bit of buzz in the news lately over some statistics that show the State of California spending more per prisoner per year than per K-12 student. This infographic from the ACLU details some of the numbers that have a lot of people up in arms.

While there’s not an easy answer to the questions surrounding the education system OR the prison system in the US, the numbers are pretty interesting. Take a look and tell us what you think – would you pick school or jail?
