Everyone’s a cynic. Pundits seem to expect Google+ to be instantly as popular as Facebook or Twitter for some reason. Personally, I think it’ll just take time and am hopeful about G+. I like it. I have seen extremely high quality content from members of the Edudemic Circle (join in here). I’ve learned nearly as much as from Google+ as I have from Twitter. Facebook though, don’t even get me started. I’m debating deleting my entire account. But that’s another story.

So it makes me sort of laugh / wince when I see an infographic about how Google+ is stinking up the joint. Because let’s face it, it’s not. It’s not a viral sensation like the early days of Facebook. It’s an infant in the world of social media. As Google continues to tie services to it, Google+ will continue to grow.

But that’s just my opinion. There’s a lot going against Google+ right now and the below infographic explains just about everything you should know. From the time spent on each network to the amount of time spent on the site… it’s still a bit grim.

So, as with all technology, only time will tell if Google+ grows or falls. In the meantime, the below infographic is really just a clever way to display some of the current stats about all popular social networks. Worth a look!
